Summary
This poem points at the place where the writer makes a choice to follow their heart, their pen, or not and what might or might not happen as a consequence.

is to dismiss it
to tell it that what it wants to say
doesn't matter and never will.
Then, the poem that was
about to flow from your pen
to the paper, like blood or sap
or like wise blood
decides that it won't
and that you'll be left in the dark.
Knowing is what matters most
to the poem that rises from your gut
or your cloud to tell the story
of what it needs to decipher.
But if you tell it that it doesn't matter
and that no one will ever care
then it will evaporate
and you'll be left without knowing
that all important thing
it was going to reveal to you.
So, if you decide to do this
to your poem
and turn a blind eye,
remember that you have chosen
not to know
and you'll have to deal with the consequences.
