Conversing loudly on our mobile phones.
Big Issue seller holds out hope and offers ‘Good morning’
We side step, in a hurry, sipping skinny latte from a paper cup.
Could it be if we don’t look he is not there?
Be generous of spirit, do not judge. A turn of fate it could be you.
No need put down coffee cup or pocket mobile phone.
Open your eyes. If you do nothing else, acknowledge that you see him.
He is there. It may make a difference – smile
