تكتب ريتشل جوزيف بإيجازٍ ووضوح عمّا يعتلج في نفسها عبر مراحل حياتها المختلفة. فمنذ تدوين خبراتها في الطفولة في ديوانها “تلك الفتاة السمراء” ومن ثَمَّ خلال إعادة تخيلها للرجال والنساء الذينرحلوا قبل أن تصدّ الجميع بقولها:
“…فخورةٌ وبكلِّ الألوانْ
