عن دار ” أزمنة ” للنشر والتوزيع في عمّان، صدر الكتاب الحادي عشر للكاتب العراقي علي السوداني تحت عنوان “قطة تعزف على طاولة الدرويش” وهو مجموعة من قصار القصص والحكايات. صمم غلاف الكتاب الرسام العراقي مؤيد محسن. وكان الترتيب والإخراج الداخلي للفنانة احسان الناطور.

بسطال
عرفتُهُ تماماً ولم يعرفْني. لقد تبدّلتْ بعضُ ملامحه، لكنَّ عطرَهُ الابتدائيّ ظلَّ كما صُنعَ أول مرة. عرضتُ أن أصحبهُ معي إلى الدار فلمْ أنجح.
لقد ذكّرني ببسطالٍ مخلصٍ ما زالَ مشتولاً في طين الأرض الحرام يكاد يصيح:
خذوا نوطَ الشجاعة ، فلا رغبة لديَّ بساقٍ خشبيةٍ ثانية.

One of the short stories which is written in prose type and in a near surrealist idea:
Jump Boot
I knew it well. It did not know me. Some of its features had changed. Its odour stayed the same, as if it just come from the manufacturer. Same odour. I offered to accompany it home but to no avail.
It reminded me of a “sincere”* boot buried in no-mans-land, about to shout:
“Keep the medal for braveness. I have no desire for a second wooden leg.”
*The x-soldier befriended his boot and became “sincere”.
