Hajar and Yaser, daughter and son of the late Iraqi sculptor Mohammad Ghani Hikmat (1929-2011), are celebrating his birth on April the 20^th. 

This remarkable celebration took place at The Gallery, Baghdad, Iraq, between 15-24 April 2024. 

Ghani Hikmat’s sculptures enrich Baghdad with his works inspired by the Arabian Nights, and his last statue representing the unification of Iraqi culture. In this gallery, different works from the fifties of the last century until his death are displayed alongside his personal belongings. This adds an intimate touch to the exhibition.

محمَّد غنيّ حكمت

ما أحلى بل وما أوفى أن يذكر الأبناء والدهم!

في ذكرى ولادة النَّحَّات العراقيِّ محمَّد غنيّ حكمت في العشرين من نيسان (إبريل) عام ١٩٢٩، أقام ولداه هاجر وياسر حفلاً تأبينيّاً له في (ذه غاليري) في بغداد The Gallery, Baghdad

حكمت الذي تزيُّن أعماله بغداد مثل “شهرزاد وشهريار” و”علي بابا والأربعين حرامي” ونصب “إنقاذ الثَّقافة العراقيَّة” رحل عن عالمنا عام ٢٠١١.

افتُتح المعرض في الخامس عشر من نيسان (إبريل) ٢٠٢٤ واستمرّ حتَّى الرابع والعشرين منه، ويُزيِّن قاعتَه عددٌ كبيرٌ من أعمال الفنَّان أُنجِزت منذ خمسينيات القرن الماضي. تضمُّ المعروضات منحوتاتٍ برونزيَّة وحجريَّة ومرمريَّة ونقوشاً خشبيَّة وأعمالاً متفرِّقة أخرى كتخطيطات ورسوم، وبعضاً من مقتنياته الشَّخصيَّة كساعة يد وجواز سفر ليتعرَّفه الزَّائر عن قرب.
