The Innocence of the Forgotten Child

Forgotten childhood…?! By which path did innocence lose its way?!
At an Arab book fair, a child—not yet ten—asked me: “Can I find a novel that is exciting?.. A mysterious murder?.. A plane crash with unknown causes?.. Crimes of electronic viruses?.. The assassination of a bird without wings?!…”
He read the confusion on my face… “Yes, what we find on the internet— is plenty of excitement… and conversations with artificial intelligence programs that feed pleasure without limits…”
He whispered to me: “Did you know? I have robot friends… I stay up with them every night… our conversations have no boundaries.”
I stood there, wrapped in shock… Where are we being led?! Who is raising this generation?! If cyberspace is their teacher… then the outcome of their thinking is a generation wandering aimlessly in every valley…
For a moment, memory pulled me back— to the innocence of childhood programs:
Iftah Ya Simsim (Sesame Street), Adnan and Lina, and the purity they carried…
What happened with that child repeats itself at every book fair— a real phenomenon… ringing the bell for the awakening of parents and schools…
For this generation stands on the edge of a precipice… By what sin was it robbed?
جناية التَّكنولوجيا .. براءة الطُّفولة المنسيَّة
طفولةٌ منسيَّةٌ
من أي طريقٍ تاهت البراءة ؟
في معرض كتابٍ عربي
سألني طفلٌ دون العاشرة:
أأجد رواية فيها متعة:
جريمةُ قتل غامضةٌ،
سقوط طائرة لسببٍ مجهولٍ،
جرائم فيروساتٍ ألكترونية،
اغتيال طائر دون أجنحةٍ؟
فقرأ الحيرة في وجهي.
نعم ما نجده في عالم الإنترنت فيه كثير من المتعةِ.
والحوارات مع برامج الذكاء الاصطناعي تغذِّي المتعة دون قيود.
همس لي:
أتعلم؟ لديَّ صديقات روبوتات أسهر معهن كل ليلة في حوار بلا حدود.
الذهول تلبَّسني!
إلى أين نحن مُسيَّرون؟
من يربِّي هذا الجيل؟
إذا كان المعلِّم الفضاء الألكتروني فمخرجات التفكير جيلٌ في كل وادٍ يهيم.
للحظة سرقتني الذاكرة ناصية …
برامج الترفيه: (افتح يا سمسم) و(عدنان ولينا)، وبراءة البرامج…
ما حصل مع الطفل يتكرر في معارض الكتب.
ظاهرةٌ حقيقةٌ تُعلق الجرس لإيقاظ الأهل والمدرسة
فالجيل على شَفا الهاوية.
هذا الجيل بأيّ ذنبٍ سُرق؟
