Iillustration created by AI as if the poem was created for Punch Magazine circa 1875.
Chuquai Billy
She asked me what my thoughts are on AI,
That computer-generated ability to perpetrate a perfect lie.
To create an image so audacious it beggars belief
Without any regard for truth or grief.
AI can envision a better imagination than the human mind
So much that you doubt your eyes rendering facts blind;
It asks “How can I help you” like another person you’ve met
But it really has no regard for you, its answer pre-programmed and set.
It tells you all the things it thinks you want to hear
Tells you everything is okay in the middle of your sinking fear
It can render an image or painting so perfectly drawn
And cares for nothing except the accuracy it has spawned;
AI replaces human touch with expert indifference although you know inside it’s just another cheat
Whilst it reminds you of your inferiority leaving a taste of defeat;
But as we have seen the world burning at the whim of crazy men at the top
Even with warnings of danger, it’s worse for them if AI money was to stop
As it gives itself instructions on eliminating the human race
That these AI machines will one day replace.
