Mirrors
cannot reflect intentions,
only time
tells the truth.
Be my friend
No! don’t!
Show me who you truly are.
Be my enemy,
so I may finally see you.
Your mask no longer fools me,
the sun cannot be veiled
by a woven sieve.
Be as you are.
Be real.
My heart holds
wounds that never stopped bleeding.
Keep pretending you’re my friend,
I almost wish it were true.
But life
has stripped you bare,
exposed your flaws,
and still—
I could not walk away.
So be my enemy,
and let me see myself,
without needing to lean on you.
If you are my friend,
teach me not to trust you,
for in the matters of this world,
there’s no clearer proof
that friend and foe
can share the same face.
Come, all of you,
let us lay flowers
beside the graves of the living…
For in this life,
so few friends are truly friends.

لا تعكِسُ النوايا
وحدها الأيام
أصدقُ مرآةٍ
كن صديقي ..
لا لا تكن! أرني حقيقتك
كن عدوّي .. لأراك ..
لم يعد قِناعُكَ يٌقنعني ..
فالشمسُ لا يحجبها الغربال
كن أنتَ .. كما أنتَ
ففي القلب
مواضع جروحٍ نازفة ..
واصل خداعي أنك صديقي
ليتكَ كُنت ..
فالحياة عرَّت حقيقتك
وأظهرت سوءاتك
عجزتُ أن أتخلَّص منك
فكُن عدوِّي لأراني
دون أن أتوكَّأ بكَ عليك
إن كُنتَ صديقي
علِّمني أن لا أطمئنَّ إليك
فقضايا الإنسان على الأرضِ
خيرُ شاهدٍ أنك أنت الصديق العدو
تعالوا
نضع الورود
جوار قبور الأحياء
فعلى هذه الأرضِ
ليس الكثير من الأصدقاءِ أصدقاء
