GRIEF

Chuquai Billy

Grief is not a quiet thing.
Grief thunders through you, overpowers you like a tsunami wave
Crashing into your brain, changing everything.

Grief is not a quiet thing.
It shifts the earth you stand upon making your knees weak
It smacks you dead in the face and doesn’t care if it hurts
Grief follows you throughout your day and forces a cloudburst of tears when you are not ready.
Grief takes your breath as you drown in heaving sobs.

Soon you are on the floor losing control as Grief brings back the reality of sorrowful loss over and over and over and over
And all you can do is to let it happen until it spends itself and you are exhausted.

Grief is not a quiet thing.
