“Off with their heads”*,
Throttle their throats,
Asunder, the threads,
Once woven with hopes.
Prayers and pleas,
Resound thine palace,
How can thy decree,
Such violence, such malice?
On innocent souls,
Pray tell what they’ve done,
Thine lips, they quiver,
Thine mouth, it shuns,
Tales of a reign,
Abound with great gore,
Thine Fingers of Filth,
Shed crimson outpours.
Dost thou not feel,
An inkling of remorse?
Dost thine bosom conceal,
What Truth only knows?
Gracing the throne,
Crown atop his head,
The dear King has left,
Our folks quite dead.
His fingertips yielded,
Such power, such force,
All vice and evil,
He smiled, endorsed.
*The phrase 'Off with their heads' is well-known in Western literature, especially in early British history. It was used in royal or judicial contexts, where monarchs or rulers issued it as a death sentence. This expression became prominent during the late Medieval and early Renaissance periods, particularly during the reign of kings like Henry VIII."
The phrase has since become part of popular culture in literature and theater, famously appearing in works like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, where it was used by the Red Queen in the story.

أتُراكَ تشعرُ بوخزِ النَّدم؟
أم أنَّه لا يجدُ طريقَهُ إلى قلبِك؟
وما الَّذي يُخفيهِ صدرُك منَ الأسرار؟

التَّاجُ على رأسِه
بينما يغرَقُ أهلُنا في ظلامِ القبور
المصائرُ رَهْنُ أطرافِ أصابعِه وقسوتِه وجبروتِه
فِعالُهُ فِعالُ الشَّيطان
في كلِّ فعلٍ شرٌّ
وهو جالسٌ على عرشِه مبتسماً منتشياً بالبلاءِ
الَّذي جاءت بِه صنائعه

*جملة “اقطعوا رؤوسَهم” معروفةٌ في الأدب الغربيّ. شاع استعمالها أواخر العصور الوسطى والفترة المبكِّرة من عصر النَّهضة لا سيَّما في عهد الملك الإنجليزيّ هنري الثَّامن إذ كانت تُستخدَم في السِّياقات الملكيَّة أو القضائيَّة لتمثِّلَ حكماً بالإعدام. ومنذ ذلك الحين أصبحت جزءاً من الثَّقافة الشَّعبيَّة في الأدب والمسرح، وظهرت في أعمال مثل “مغامرات أليس في بلاد العجائب” للكاتب لويس كارول حين استخدمتها الملكة الحمراء في القصَّة.
